Carpenters

Location: Greater Indianapolis Area

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS: Managing projects. Performing carpentry work. Supervising and training junior carpenters. Budgeting. Ensuring quality control. Maintaining customer relations. Project documentation.

REQUIRED CHARACTERISTICS FOR SUCCESS:

• Attention to detail: As Lead Carpenter, you will need to have a keen eye for detail and be able to produce high-quality work that meets exact standards.

• Adaptability: Construction projects can be unpredictable, and you will need to be able to adapt to changing circumstances and adjust your plans accordingly.
• Initiative: You should be a self-starter who is able to take the initiative and identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures.
• Problem-solving skills: You should be able to think creatively and come up with solutions to complex problems.
• Physical stamina: Carpentry is a physically demanding job, and you will need to have the stamina and endurance to work long hours and handle heavy materials and equipment.
• Positive attitude: A positive attitude can be contagious and can help to keep team morale high, even in challenging situations.
• Interpersonal skills: You will be working closely with other members of your team, as well as with clients and other stakeholders. You should have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
• Commitment to safety: As a Lead Carpenter, you will need to be committed to ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others and be willing to always enforce safety protocols and procedures.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  

• Ability to proficiently do interior trim including crown molding, stair treads & stair assemblies, cabinetry installation, and other carpentry skills.

• Have experience in the construction industry, with knowledge of building codes and regulations, project planning, and managing subcontractors.

• Experience in supervising and managing a team, with knowledge of training and development, delegation, and conflict resolution.

• Basic plumbing & electrical skills such as outlet swaps, faucet swaps, etc.

• Good communication skills; verbal, text, and phone

• The ability to read and understand construction documentation.

• Reliable vehicle & cell phone

• Ability to perform physically demanding work on a consistent basis, including lifting 100 pounds.

• Clean background check & good-standing driver’s license
