Experienced Lead  Designer

Location: Fishers, IN & Greater Indianapolis Area

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • **** Sales Disclaimer ****
    • Any aspects related to sales related components (i.e. sales goals, signed agreements, etc.) are not to be handled by Lead Designer until sign off from management and completion of training program.
      • This includes completion and review of the McQuaig Assessment
    • Until this point Lead Designer will act alongside management in whatever capacity they see fit.
  • Acts as the main point of contact with clients from signed Conceptual Design Agreement to signed Build Agreement.
  • Responsible for writing Workscope and building preliminary estimates through conceptual
  • Responsible for initial Chief conceptual drawings
  • Responsible for pre-determined sales goals as directed by management
  • Responsible for following Contract Documents
    • Signed DDA
    • Signed BA
  • Responsible for scheduling & leading internal and external meetings
    • Huddles, CDP, DDP, Selections, Project Reviews, etc.
  • Leads the overall design aspects of the project
  • Ensures designs meet client requirements and budget constraints
  • Collaborates with Design & Project Coordinators to streamline project workflow
    • Sets clear deadlines
    • Communicates clearly for any revisions/tasks
    • Ensures Walkthrough and Construction Documents are completed by Project Coordinator
    • Ensures hand-off packets are complete for Structural, Estimating & Production departments for various checkpoints
  • Responsible for working in tandem with the Project Coordination Team
  • Reviewing existing conditions with SD
  • Reviewing any structural components with SD prior to CDP1
  • Review any structural revisions with SD.
  • Leading deadlines for PC’s to provide proper WT, Permit & CD’s for SD to review/redline
  • Leading deadlines for PC’s to provide the production team with appropriate hand-off packets, WT & CD’s
  • Responsible for leading WT’s with trades/vendors
  • Schedule and coordinate the Walkthroughs
  • Responsible for continued client communication/service post sale
  • Scheduling final project walkthrough
  • Notifying marketing team for photos list
  • Responsible for material selections and will need to stay up to date with product knowledge
  • Responsible for working directly with Structural team or Production to assess feasibility of project
  • And other duties as modified or assigned

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design or a related field.  
  • Relevant work experience as an interior designer in the construction or architecture industry. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating detailed interior design plans, including space layouts, color schemes, material selections, and furniture and lighting specifications. 
  • Proven experience in coordinating with vendors and subcontractors for procurement and installation of materials and furnishings. 
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards related to interior design and construction. 
  • Track record of successfully managing budgets and timelines for interior design projects, including cost estimation, expense tracking, and project scheduling. 
  • Proficiency in using design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite. 
  • Strong understanding of design principles, color theory, materials, and lighting. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively convey design concepts to clients and project teams through visual aids, such as 3D renderings, mood boards, and presentations. 
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with other professionals, such as architects, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure seamless coordination of interior design elements with overall construction plans.
